It has been a good week, and time is finally starting to go at a normalish speed for me. It is weird that we are in March and that I have been in Japan for 4 weeks. Sometimes it feels like I have been here forever, but other times (usually when I don't understand a word that anyone is saying) I feel like I just got here yesterday. But I am really starting to like Japan, and I think I know my way around finally.
This past week we have had a lot of appointments and we were really busy (as always). Yesterday we got to each both lunch and dinner with members. It is pretty rare to get to eat with a member, so twice in one day was amazing!
For lunch we went to a sushi place that was pretty expensive, but the member really wanted to take us there. I think I ate about $16 worth of food and I wasn't even full when we left - I just didn't want to make them spend any more. But the sushi was way good, probably worth the money. I definitely like sushi in Japan (this was my first sushi experience in Japan), it is way better than any sushi that I've had in the states. Also I ate takoyaki - fried octopus. It was delicious. One of the things of sushi that I ate was eel, and it was way good.
For dinner we ate at Sister Uoi's house with all of the missionaries in Asahikawa (us, 2 sisters, and 2 other elders). We ate venison/deer, and that was way good. So yesterday I ate: eel, octopus, venison, and raw fish. All of it was suprisingly delicious.
Today for pday we decided to not plan anything big so that we could just take it easy and relax. It has been quite nice. As far as a package to me goes, I'm not picky and anything would be great. Reeses (I would definitely like these or any other peanut buttery candy). The one thing that I need is toothpaste! Thanks for your letters and prayers. I love you all.
