Hi Family,
Thanks for all of the great letters this week. Mom, thank you for the amazing package. The Swedish Fish and Reeses Pieces are heavenly. Seriously, they don't have candy that good in Japan. In fact, most Japanese people don't like American candy/cookies/cakes/etc because they are too sweet for them. But I, being an American, absolutely love them. Thanks also for the BYU shirt. I am excited for the season to start and especially to hear how McKay Jacobson does.
Congratulations on hiking 9990. Most people have a hard enough time getting down 9990, so I am impressed that you were able to get up it. It is really steep, so I am surprised that you were actually able to hike it.
Well, this week I got to baptize Nojiri san! It was really good, and I am excited to continue to help him grow as a new member. I also gave a talk in church later that day, so it was a busy day for me at church. My talk was about "Preach the Gospel" which is easy for missionaries, but sort of harder for members. I talked about being a good example and helping others see the happiness and joy that church members have that other people don't have. In Japan, there have been a lot of bad incidences that have been attributed to Christianity, so it is really hard for us to find people with any desire to learn about Christianity. But the younger generation (the unbiased generation) is slowly coming around.
Well, I would love to write more, but I am unfortunately out of time. I love you all. Have a great week. Go Cougars! Beat the Sooners!

PS - Transfers are tomorrow, and I am staying in Higashi with Elder Yoneda. He will be the first companion since my trainer that I have spent more than one transfer together with.
