Phone Call From Sapporo Japan

President DAniels called on Skype and told me that Elder Christensen arrived at 9 p.m. last night in a snowstorm. I said he probably liked that very much. He let Dallin say hi and then let me know that they were excited to have Dallin there. It was so nice to know that he was in Japan safe and sound!!!

Japan Sapporo Mission Information

The church in Hokkaido: The Japan Sapporo Mission covers the entire island of Hokkaido - the northern most island in Japan. The mission headquarters is located in the city of Sapporo. WIth a population close to 2 million people, Sapporo is the 5th largest city in Japan. Sapporo has three Stakes, one District with 27 wards and branches. The climate in Hokkaido is very similar to Park City, Utah. There are four distinct seasons with significant snow fall in the Winters, cherry blossoms in the Spring, beautiful summers that avoid Japan's typical rainy season, and colorful Falls. The size of Hokkaido is approximately the same size as the state of Indiana. The missionaries who serve in Hokkaido are lovingly referred to as the "Frozen Chosen"
