2009, Aug. snail mail and pictures from JapanSapporo mission blog

Dallin wrote some letters home this week by snail mail and in one letter her listed favorite things and least favorite things.
Favorite: little kids that are amazed that a white guy can understand them.
Having a convenience store like 7-11 every few blocks.
Taking off your shoes at the door--I like walking around without shoes on
Guys having crazy hair.
Great customer service...if a store doesn't have what you are looking for, they will tell you where you can find it.
Least Favorite: Everything looks clean on the outside but nearly all houses/ apartments are super dirty and unorganized.
Everything is small...doors, cars, food, etc.
Christianity is socially unaccepted.
No one has good teeth.
Having to take your shoes off even if you are in a hurry and just have to be in the apartment for 5 seconds.
No one dollar or five dollar bills. Anything below ten dollars is change. You get a fat wallet.
Not being able to send mail from your mailbox. You have to take it to the post office or the nearest post box.
