Co-Senior Again

The Olympics sound exciting. Keep me updated if anything cool happens. There is a 14 year old from Hokkaido that is in the speed skating events. That is a big deal up here (1st Jr. High kid on the Japanese Olympic team).Ok, so now on to transfer news! Elder Willis is staying in Iwamizawa and going senior companion! And I....am also staying. We are going to be co-seniors, just like what I did with Elder Thurber. I don't know why they didn't just have us be co-seniors this past transfer, but it doesn't make much of a difference to me. I am still District Leader, so not a lot is going to change.
I am excited to spend another 6 weeks in this great area. I am really hoping that we can help someone get baptized this transfer. We have an investigator that is slowly progressing, but she still won't commit to coming to church. In fact, nearly all of our investigators won't commit to coming to church. They say that they are busy and they don't have time for church. That has probably been my biggest struggle here in Iwamizawa. But we are going to work hard, give our all, and let the Lord bless us. I have seen a baptism with 4 out of my previous 5 companions, so I intend to see a baptism with Elder Willis.
This past week was lots of fun. Being in Sapporo was great, and the Snow Festival was fun. (It wasn't as good as last year's, but still good.) Also, Elder Willis hit his one year mark last week. I bought him some cool erasable highlighters to celebrate.
On Saturday I finally got the package from home. Mom, thank you so much! The Swedish Fish were all frozen together because the package had been in our mailbox all day. Yesterday I finally got a chance to play the piano music, and it is way fun. Thank you so much!
On Sunday they had an interesting announcement in Sacrament Meeting: the Hiroshima Mission is closing and being absorbed by the Fukuoka and Kobe missions. Sad. Also, a mission in Korea is also closing. The number of missionaries in the Asia North area is getting way low. With transfers this week, our mission is dropping down to 59 missionaries! And we lose more next transfer!
On Sunday, as Valentine's Day, we got a ton of candy/chocolate from the members here. I have been eating it all week, and it is absolutely delicious! My favorite are the Maple flavored Kit Kats (they just got released this past month). Do they have various flavors of Kit Kats in America? I don't remember them ever being around, but I never really paid attention to those kinds of things.
Well, that is about it for the week. I love you all. Have a great week and enjoy the Olympics.
