Hi Family,
I hope the weather in Utah is nice. We got snow last night, but it is quickly melting as I type. Mom and Dad: Happy Anniversary!I am glad that my package finally arrived. I was starting worry since I know how unreliable international mail is.
This past week was good for me. Last p-day I got letters from home and from Sister Ishikawa, the 82 year old lady that I baptized about a year ago. She is way nice, and it was awesome to hear from her, especially because the church has become an important part of her life. She sent me a really nice scarf (I think). It is hand woven and looks really expensive.
The highlight of the week was a really good Zone Conference on Thursday. I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun. After Zone Conference I got to go on exchanges with Elder Kinard (currently serving in Kitami) and I had a really good time. We worked together well and were able to immediately implement the things that we learned at Zone Conference.
On Monday we were having a rough day, and no one was talking with us. On the last door before dinner, God blessed us with a miracle and a young guy came to the door. Normally young people are out during the daytime hours, so the fact that a young person was home was a miracle. Better yet, he said that he has interest in religion and often wonders about the purpose of life. We were able to teach him a little and he committed to coming to church this upcoming Sunday. Unfortunately, he is moving to Tokyo next week, so we won't get to continue teaching him.
Well, time is a little short. I love you all so much. Have a great week.
Elder Christensen
