It's Almost Mother's Day...last phone call home! Yipee.

As far as my release date goes, it should be December 10. There shouldn't be oodles of snow by then, but probably about a half foot in Sapporo and a foot everywhere else around the island. I was thinking about having the family come up, and it is pretty hard for me to plan stuff since I can't really access a computer or call people.

I can't believe that Orem got a WINCO! That is way cool. But it sort of ruins the meaning of the name WINCO (Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon). Oh well, that makes me happy.
This past week has had its ups and downs, but it was a good week. We got an unexpected snowstorm last Thursday that dumped about 4 inches of snow overnight and into the morning. But around 9 AM the falling snow turned to rain, and thus converted everything on the ground to about 3 inches of slush. We had a lesson at 10:30, and it took us a long time to bike in all of that slush. By the time we showed up at our lesson, we were completely soaked. Actually, we were completely soaked by the first stoplight on our way to the lesson. It rained all of Friday as well. But on Saturday, the sun came out and it was a nice day.
Which was lucky for us, because we had the ward barbeque party. It went really well and was lots of fun. As we were riding our bikes to the park for the party, we got a phone call from a guy that was an investigator about a year ago. He said that he had watched the movie "Passion" (that Mel Gibson movie) and he remembered the missionaries. We invited him to the party, he came and had a great time, and then we got to teach him afterwards. Today we are going with him to some far-off farm that is famous for its ice cream and caramel.
On Saturday night, we were able to pick up another old investigator. God really led us to her, because her teaching record isn't in the area book, and there is no way we could have found her except by God's help. We were just doing normal housing when we met a girl that said she had met the missionaries last year and really liked them. She got busy with school and had to stop meeting with them, and that was that. So we taught her a little bit and set up an appointment for this week.
On Sunday at church they finally announced the site for the Sapporo temple! It took 7 months, but it finally got chosen. And it is going to be in an area that no one had really anticipated. Hopefully they will start construction on it right away.
Things with Elder Nagata are going good. There is only one week left this transfer! So now we hit the homestretch. Unfortunately we won't see a baptism this transfer, but we have worked our hardest.
I love you all. Have a great week. I look forward to talking with you on Monday/Sunday.
