Vicious Crows In Japan...Believe it!

I bought a way good-looking suit for about $90 today!
That is cool that Korea did the To the Rescue program. We started it up here in Japan as well (I believe the Area Presidency are the ones that got it started for the Asia North area). Unfortunately, not too many members have been jumping on the bandwagon, so it isn't helping much. Plus, a lot of the inactive members here have no desire to come back to church. I have had many experiences where I tried to visit an inactive member and had them tell me that they want us to stop bothering them. It is sad.
Here's the interesting experience of the week: On Saturday I saw two crows on the sidewalk pecking at something. That is pretty common in Japan. Crows are everywhere and they try to get into everyone's trash. But I couldn't figure out what those crows were pecking at until we rode by - it was a squirrel! So yeah, I say a squirrel ripped in half being eaten by crows. They are vicious here.
Yesterday after church we had a special fireside celebrating the 40 year anniversary of missionaries being in Obihiro. We got to see some pictures from the early days of the ward and it was a lot of fun.
This week's work has been rough. All of our investigators seem to be insanely busy, and so we haven't been able to meet any of them. There have been a few times this week when I was a little down. But on Thursday I had a nice experience. We hadn't had any success all afternoon and we came up to the last house of the area we were going to work. I thought, "Please help us make one appointment God." But there was no answer at the door, and we turned to go to our bikes. After about 10 seconds or so, some lady came out of that house and called after us. She let us teach her a lesson, and it was a great boost for me.
So, I figured out a way to make up for my short emails the past few weeks. I took pictures of my journal from the last few weeks and I will send you the picture files. I just tried to attach them to this email, but this computer doesn't seem to work very well and they won't attach. So I'll just throw them on a USB stick and get it in the mail as soon as possible. BTW, the crappy computers here are the reason that you haven't gotten too many picture attachments in my emails recently.
Tonight I am going in to Sapporo for a leadership training thing. Tonight is Monday night, and I will probably be there until Friday night or Saturday morning! That is a long time to be out of our area not doing missionary work. But I guess that is the story of my life here in the Obihiro Zone.
