Got got got got no time Feb. 18, 2009

Hello Family!
I have absolutely no time today to email. I'm sorry. I will try to send my letters tomorrow (finally). I love you so much. Japan is still crazy. Thank you for everything you do. Have a great week.

Elder Christensen

Here is what we received from President Daniels:
We are pleased to inform you that your son, Elder Christensen, arrived safely in Sapporo, Japan and is beginning his work as a representative of Jesus Christ in Sharing the message of the restored gospel to the people living in Japan. We are so pleased to welcome him to the best misison in the world.
After interviewing Elder Christensen and getting to know him a little better, he was assigned to labor in Asahikawa. His companion /trainer, Elder Lottermoser, is a wonderful missionary who will ensure that your son is well cared for and learns the daily blessings associated with proselytizing here on the island of Hokkaido.
You can expect to hear from your son weekly ( as that is one of the mission rules Sister Daniels insists on reminding every missionary she meets.) The mail service in Japan is very dependable. You may write your son or send packages through the mission home for forwarding. The mission home address is:
Japan Sapporo Mission
Kita 2 Jo Nishi 24 Chome 1-25
Chuo-ku, Sapporo 064-0822
Japan
As an additional note, personal checks are impossible to cash in Japan. Even a cashier's check or a money order ( in dollars) are very expensive to cash and convert into yen. Please inform any who might try to send money to your son. The most convenient method is a debit card drawn on a personal checking or savings account from your bank in your home town. This debit card should be one which allows international withdrawals, such as Visa or Mastercard. A withdrawal can then be made at a post office or bank wherever your son is located here in Japan.
I am enclosing a picture of your son with Sister Daniels and me. This is the first of many occasions Sister Daniels and i will have to be with Elder Christensen. I interview all the missionaries each month and have a zone conference monthly as well. Our interaction over the next many months will be frequent and rewarding for both of us. I look forward to serving with him and seeing him develop into a disciple of Christ as he spreads glad tidings among the wonderful people of Japan. May the Lord bless you and your family for his faithful service. President Lee A. Daniels
